Series & Subscriptions

Series are the backbone of long-term storytelling on Adarle20. Instead of one-off sessions, a series lets you run an ongoing campaign where players subscribe and commit to the full journey — giving you a reliable group and a story that actually reaches its conclusion.

1

What are Series?

A series is a scheduled campaign made up of multiple sessions that players subscribe to in advance. Unlike one-shots, series create continuity: the same group shows up each week, characters grow, and the story builds over time. When a player subscribes to your series, they're committing to the whole run — not just a single night. Adarle20 handles the recurring billing automatically so you can focus on the game, not the logistics. Series work best for campaigns of 4 or more sessions: think a D&D adventure arc, a Chronicles of Darkness investigation, or a full Pathfinder module.
2

Creating your first series

When setting up a series, you'll define the total number of sessions, a recurring schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly), and a price per session. Adarle20 calculates the total subscription cost automatically. Choose a schedule you can realistically maintain — consistency matters more than frequency. A biweekly series you actually run beats a weekly series you cancel. Set your price per session the same way you would for a one-shot, keeping in mind that series players are committing long-term. Many DMs offer a slight discount over their one-shot rate as a reward for that commitment.

Managing your subscribers

Players join your series by subscribing through the series page. Once subscribed, they appear in your subscriber list on the DM dashboard, where you can see who's confirmed for the next session. If a subscriber drops out mid-campaign, you can open that spot to new players without restarting the series. Use the session notes to bring new joiners up to speed on the story so far. Keep communication proactive — send a brief message before each session reminding players of the schedule and any prep they should do. Players who feel informed are far less likely to go missing on game night.
4

Automatic session generation

Once you publish a series, Adarle20 automatically generates all the individual sessions based on your schedule and session count. Each session gets its own date, which players can see on the session calendar. You can edit any individual session — update the description, add session-specific prep notes, or adjust the time if a particular date conflicts. Changes to a single session don't affect the rest of the series. If your campaign runs long and you want to add more sessions beyond the original count, you can extend the series from your dashboard. Subscribers are notified automatically.

Tips for long-running campaigns

End each session with an open question or unresolved tension — a cliffhanger doesn't have to be dramatic, just something that makes players think about the story between sessions. That anticipation is what keeps groups together for months. Keep a shared session log (even a short paragraph recap per session) somewhere your players can reference it. Memory fades fast, and helping players remember what happened makes every new session feel earned. Be transparent when life gets in the way. If you need to reschedule, tell your group early and offer a makeup date. The DMs with the most loyal subscribers on Adarle20 are the ones who treat their players' time with respect.
