Your DM Profile

Your profile is your storefront on Adarle20. Before a player ever reads your session description, they'll see your photo, your bio, and your reviews. A strong profile builds trust and gets bookings — here's how to make yours stand out.

1

Profile Photo & Banner

Use a clear, well-lit photo where your face is visible — players connect better with a real person than a logo or avatar. It doesn't have to be professional, but it should look intentional: good lighting, no distracting background. Your banner image is prime real estate. Use it to set the mood for the kind of games you run — a dark forest for horror campaigns, vibrant fantasy art for high-adventure games. Free tools like Canva work great for this. Avoid blurry, cropped, or very dark images. First impressions happen in seconds.
2

Writing Your Bio

Your bio should answer three questions players have when they land on your profile: Who are you as a DM? What kind of experience will they have? Are you right for them? Mention the systems you run (D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Call of Cthulhu, etc.), your experience level, and what your sessions feel like — high combat, heavy roleplay, collaborative storytelling, puzzle-heavy, beginner-friendly, or all of the above. Be specific over generic. "I run cinematic, story-driven D&D 5e campaigns with moral dilemmas and unforgettable villains" is far more compelling than "I've been a DM for 5 years and love RPGs."
3

Game Systems & Tags

List every system you're comfortable running, and be specific about editions — "D&D 5e" and "D&D 3.5" attract very different players. Use tags to help players filter and find you: beginner-friendly, horror, one-shot, long-campaign, LGBTQ+-safe, rules-light, west-marches, and so on. Tags are one of the main ways players discover DMs on Adarle20, so don't leave them empty. If you specialize in something niche — Delta Green, Blades in the Dark, Pendragon — list it proudly. Niche system players are actively searching for those DMs and there's less competition.
4

Reviews & Building Reputation

Early reviews are everything. For your first few sessions, consider offering introductory pricing to lower the barrier for players who don't know you yet — a player who has a great experience will leave a review that does your marketing for you. After each session, Adarle20 will prompt players to leave a review. You can also mention it naturally at the end of a session: "If you had fun, a quick review really helps me out." A profile with 5 reviews will consistently outperform a profile with zero, even if the zero-review DM is more experienced.
5

Keeping Your Profile Active

An active profile ranks higher and gets more visibility on Adarle20. Keep your availability calendar updated — nothing frustrates a player more than booking a session only to find out you're not available. Respond to messages within 24 hours. Players often message multiple DMs at once; the one who responds first and warmly usually gets the booking. Update your bio and sessions when you add a new system, finish a long campaign, or change your play style. A profile that looks recently tended signals that you're an engaged, reliable DM.
