Feedback and Improvement
How to receive feedback from your players and grow as a DM with each game.
1
When to ask for feedback
- At the end of each session (2-3 quick questions).
- After an important story arc.
- When a complete campaign ends.
2
Useful questions
- What moment of the session was your favorite?
- Was the game pace right — too fast, too slow?
- Was anything confusing or frustrating?
- Would you like more combat, more narrative, or is the current balance good?

How to receive feedback
Listen without interrupting and without getting defensive. Thank suggestions, even criticism. You don't have to implement everything, but consider it.

Players leave reviews after each session. Read your reviews carefully — they're the most direct feedback you'll get and they affect how new players discover you. If you see patterns (multiple players mention slow pacing, for example), prioritize that adjustment.
After each session, ask yourself: what worked well? What felt slow? How did players react at key moments? Over time, this habit makes you a significantly better DM.
