Player Communication
How to maintain clear and professional communication before, during, and after each session.
1
Before the session
When you publish a session on Adarle20, include in the description: game system, character level, adventure tone, and approximate duration. If they need to download anything or prepare a character, communicate this in advance through the platform chat.
2
During the session
- Describe scenes clearly — highlight what players can see, hear, and do.
- Ask each player directly what their character wants to do. Don't let one player dominate.
- For online tables: confirm everyone can hear well before starting. Allow questions via chat if someone doesn't want to interrupt.
3
After the session
Spend 2-3 minutes at the end asking:
- What part did you enjoy most?
- Is there anything you'd like to see in the next session?
This information helps you improve and shows players their experience matters to you.

Managing expectations
Be clear about your campaign's style, tone, difficulty level, and commitment expectations. Define what happens if someone can't attend. Open communication prevents most misunderstandings — the key is setting expectations early and adjusting when the group's needs change.
